Aromatherapy can be used in so many ways to support you in your everyday life.

One lovely way to use essential oils everyday is to help you transition from work to home. This is especially useful for so many of you who find yourself in the new situation of working from home. It also works if you’re still in the office or working outside the home.

This will help you to switch off from work mode and into a more relaxed state of being.

I like to have a little ritual to signal finishing work. Tidy up my desk, a quick review of my day and write a list for the next day.

Then a little aromatherapy ritual…

Choose different essential oils to what you have used at work that day.

Choose an essential oil or blend that you are drawn to and that aligns with how you want to feel. For example relaxed, grounded, calm, joyful.

Pop a drop into the palm of one hand, gently rub palms together. Close your eyes, place your palms together in prayer position in front of your face. Inhale slowly and deeply, fully experience the aroma of your chosen essential oil. Exhale slowly and fully. Repeat 10 times. When you’re ready open your eyes and enjoy some time to relax and recharge.

Remember to choose what you are drawn to though, your intuition knows what you need.

To deeply relax: roman chamomile

To centre and ground: sandalwood

To feel inner calm and peace: frankincense

To bring joy and fun: mandarin
